2006-07 Sidney Crosby Game Worn Pittsburgh Penguins Playoff Jersey. Not since a youngster named Wayne Gretzky appeared on the scene in the waning days of the 1970's has the hockey world been so captivated by a teenaged talent, earning Crosby the nickname "The Next One" in deference to his predecessor. So highly regarded was the seventeen-year old phenom prior to the 2005 Draft Lottery, that many referred to it as the "Sidney Crosby Sweepstakes," as there was no question but that he would be the first pick. The offered jersey ranks among the finest of the small supply of Crosby gamers to reach the auction block, dating from his sophomore NHL season in which his 120 points earned him the Art Ross Trophy, and the distinction of becoming the youngest player and only teenager to win a scoring title in any major North American sports league.

Check the tagging in the tail placed there by Penguins head equipment manager Dana Heinze and you'll learn that this is no mere regular season jersey either, as if that wouldn't be desirable enough. This set 3 specimen saw Playoffs action on the shoulders of the game's most dynamic star, Crosby's first taste of the postseason. Though the Pens were eliminated in the first round, Crosby was not blinded by the limelight, tallying a point for each of his five playoff games.

The team logo patch dominates the black body of the sweater, with the alternate captain's "A" placed high on the left shoulder. Number "87" appears in tri-tone tackle twill on each sleeve and verso, where "Crosby" is spelled across rear nameplate. Size "54" tag is present inside collar, and fight strap remains affixed to lower rear interior tail, and has been autographed by Heinze for further authentication. Wear is appropriately light for short playoff usage. LOA from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
