2006-07 Alex Ovechkin Game Worn Washington Capitals Jersey Photo Matched to Six Games! After being drafted first overall in 2004 and making his debut following the league's lockout, Ovechkin erupted for 52 goals and 54 assists, capturing the Calder Trophy in commanding fashion. His physical style, blistering shot, and highlight-reel goals reinvigorated the Washington Capitals franchise and made him an instant face of the league. In his sophomore campaign, Ovechkin continued to dominate, scoring 46 goals and 46 assists despite facing increased defensive attention. The early years of Ovechkin's career are especially prized among collectors, with game worn jerseys from his first few seasons representing a foundational era in what would become a legendary career.

Presented is a Washington Capitals white road jersey issued to and used by Alexander Ovechkin during the 2006–07 NHL season. Made by "Reebok," this Air-Knit pullover features the Capitals' "Screaming Eagle" crest in black and white tackle twill and bronze, blue, white, and black embroidery sewn to the front. Ovechkin's number "8" appears on the sleeves and back in black tackle twill outlined in white and bronze. His surname "Ovechkin" is sewn in black on a white nameplate stitched across the back. The sleeves and hem feature intricate six-color blue, bronze, black, bronze, white, and blue trim, and the collar has three-color blue-bronze-blue edging. Each shoulder carries the Capitol Building patch, and a fight strap is sewn into the interior.

SIA Photo Matching has conclusively photo matched this jersey to six games: October 12, 19, 25, and 27, and November 4 and 9 of 2006. During this stretch, Ovechkin recorded five goals and three assists. Additional provenance includes a letter from Brock Myles, then-equipment manager of the Capitals, and Barry Meisel, president of The MeiGray Group, confirming use of this jersey during the 2006–07 regular season from October 12 through January 18.

The jersey is properly labeled with a "CCM" (a Reebok subsidiary) size "58" tag sewn inside the collar. A black "Reebok" logo is stitched on the collar's back, and the NHL shield patch is present on the back tail. Inside the back hem is the MeiGray tag reading "Game worn jerseys customized for the Washington Capitals" with serial number "D10190." All tagging and sizing are consistent with Capitals road jerseys worn by Ovechkin that season.

This jersey exhibits expected signs of laundering and multi-game use, including loose threads and tackle twill puckering. There is visible stick and puck marking, as well as slight wear to the tagging, all consistent with extensive use. Despite the wear, the jersey remains in excellent condition and stands as a significant artifact from Ovechkin's early career, a period that set the foundation for his rise among the game's all-time greats. LOA from MeiGray (D10190). LOA from SIA Photo Matching.

Auction Type
Signature Internet Extended Bid: These Auctions are presented via catalog and online. Bidding is taken through our website or via phone. There are two phases of bidding during this type of auction: 1) Normal bidding: Bids are taken up until 10 PM CT the night the auction closes. 2) 30 Minute Ending: On a lot-by-lot basis, starting at 10:00 PM CT, any person who has bid on the lot previously may continue to bid on that lot until there are no more bids for 30 minutes. For example, if you bid on a lot during Normal Bidding, you could participate during Extended Bidding for that lot, but not on lots you did not bid on previously. If a bid was placed at 10:15, the new end time for that lot would become 10:45. If no other bids were placed before 10:45, the lot would close. If you are the high bidder on a lot, changing your bid will not extend the bidding during the 30 Minute Ending phase (only a bid from another bidder will extend bidding). If you are the only bidder at 10 PM, you will automatically win the lot at 10:30. Important: After normal bidding ends, you must be signed-on to the Heritage site to see the bidding option on lots where you qualify for extended bidding and you must be on an individual lot page to reflect the accurate time remaining for that particular lot.
