1998 Steve Yzerman Nagano Olympics Game Worn Team Canada Jersey with Team Letter.Update: A Bauer inventory code label is screened on the inside.
It's not very common for any player to stay with the same team during their entire career, no matter what sport. However, it is almost unheard of for a superstar possessing Hall of Fame-caliber talent to spend their entire career in the same uniform for more than 20 seasons. Amazingly, that is exactly what Steve Yzerman did for more than 1300 games as captain of the Detroit Red Wings. On an international level, Yzerman was able to compete for Team Canada on a number of occasions, but only two Olympics.
Hockey is the national sport in Canada. Kids grow up on the ice and learn the nuances of the game at a young age. Yzerman played for Team Canada, his home country, in the 1998 and '02 Olympics. In '98, the hockey great was a part of the team's fourth-place finish in Nagano. This "Bauer size 52" jersey was worn when Yzerman participated in the '98 games. A letter of provenance is included from the President of the Canadian Hockey Association. Light overall use is shown with stick marks about 5" from the right sleeve numbers and two lighter marks near the "N" on the NOB. Dazzle cloth shoulders support a mesh body. The collar has these tags: Bauer, size and Bauer Pro. The fight strap is in-place inside. LOA from Canadian Hockey Association.
