1974-75 Phil Esposito Game Worn Boston Bruins Jersey - With Perfect Photomatch! Before Wayne Gretzky broke his record of 76 goals in a season, Phil Esposito held the NHL's most prestigious scoring record. He tallied a staggering 40 or more goals in seven straight seasons as a member of the Boston Bruins, led his team to the Stanley Cup Championship in the 1969-70 and 1971-72 seasons and eventually joined fellow "Beantown" legends when he was honored by having his No. 7 jersey retired by the Bruins. Worn during the 1974-75 season, during the memorable year that the Ontario native netted 61 scores, this fantastic showpiece features photomatches galore.To state that this sweater is "rock-solid" would be an understatement, as a rectangular team repair and another enormous square-shaped repair at the lower exterior tail can be photomatched to exact precision. The team's classic logo patch shows an incredible amount of puckering, as does the two-color tackle twill sewn-on numerals at the sleeves and verso. Esposito's alternate captain's "A" has since been removed and replaced by stitch repairs, while the proper "Wilson" tag resides in the neckline. A look at the interior reveals its original double fight strap, and a considerable amount of piling, which solidifies this jersey as an unmatched treasure that will cause quite the stir among vintage hockey memorabilia enthusiasts.
