Description

1963-64 Albert Langlois/Ron Ingram Game Worn Jersey. Here we see a highly-sought New York Rangers design from the classic 1960s, the decade that saw the end of the Original Six era with the 1967 NHL expansion. The blue wool Cosby sweater seen here was worn by Al Langlois during his final season with the Rangers in 1963-64. A teammate of Doug Harvey's on both the Rangers and Montreal Canadiens, Langlois patrolled the defense with his Hall of Fame mate. Since Langlois was traded late in the season that this sweater was worn, there is a possibility that it was also worn by Ron Ingram, who was the other part of the trade with the Detroit Red Wings. Ingram played 14 games in a Rangers uniform that season.

With Rangers shirts in high demand it should come as no surprise that examples from the 1960s are not very common in the hobby. This stellar lace-up jersey remains a fabulous presentational example despite several small holes that pepper the front, verso and sleeves. Many team repairs have also been executed. Identifiers are composed of red-on-white tackle twill and include the iconic diagonal "RANGERS" on the chest, 11" "4" on verso in 3-D style, and a 4" "4" found at each shoulder. Inner tail includes tagging from Gerry Cosby with a "50" size swatch alongside it. Fabulous Original Six design still used by the club today. LOA from MeiGray. Guide Value or Estimate: $7,000 - $8,500.
