Description

1909 Hobey Bakers Princeton Hockey Team Original Photograph. Widely recognized as the first American star of ice hockey, Hobey Baker made a name for himself on the rink and the gridiron while attending Princeton University. During WWI, Baker served with the 103rd and the 13th Aero Squadrons and was later promoted to captain and commander of the 141st Squadron. While flying a plane during a test run in 1918, Baker crashed and was killed at the age of 26. Offered here is an extremely scarce Princeton team photograph from the 1909 hockey squad, which presents Baker second from the right. Displayed in a vintage frame that measures at 10x11.5", this fine piece showcases crystal clear imagery throughout.
