1977-78 Winnipeg Jets Miniature Avco World Trophy Presented to Bobby Hull with Player Letter. The unprecedented signing of hockey superstar Bobby Hull in 1972 helped to legitimize the World Hockey Association, while powering the Winnipeg Jets to three WHA titles under the leadership of the "Golden Jet."Also known as the Avco Cup, the Avco World Trophy was the championship trophy of the World Hockey Association. Offered here is the 12.75" miniature Avco Trophy that was presented to Bobby Hull for his contributions in his team's 1977-78 championship victory. The extremely unique and exquisite design features a silver cup atop a stem and base which presents a free-floating pewter globe embedded in Lucite and engraved plaques reading "The Avco World Trophy," "Bobby Hull, Winnipeg Jets" and "Presented to the Winnipeg Jets, World Champions 1977-78," along with the complete roster. Exhibits light wear, warm patina and cleanable tarnishing. Presents in overall exemplary condition.
This lot is accompanied by a hand-signed letter of provenance from the hockey icon himself. Letter of provenance from Bobby Hull.
