Description

1972 Tim Horton Signed Check. Ecstatic NHL scouts went nuts for a young Tim Horton for his extreme strength at the junior level, many even claiming that he would go on to be the NHL's top defenseman. Although the mounds of praise and expectation that were piled upon him somewhat stunted his early NHL success, Horton did indeed go on to become a dominant player feared by his competitors for his superior might. Here we present, to our knowledge, the only signed Tim Horton check ever to hit the auction block. Signed in tremendous 8/10 black ball-point ink by the iconic Hall of Famer, it was issued in 1972, and was made out to "Mrs. Rose Cardish" for $250. This remarkable artifact has been slabbed and authenticated by the experts at PSA/DNA, while it exhibits medium staining and a 1" tear under the dollar amount, not affecting the high-quality signature in any way. For the Horton collector who has an eye for the uncommon, this piece will stand out near the top of any high-end hockey autograph collection. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Authentic.
