Description

1934 Toronto Maple Leafs/Detroit Red Wings Team Signed Program. Just after the close of the 1933-34 NHL season the Toronto Maple Leafs toured Western Canada playing against a Detroit Red Wing squad that was reinforced by three stars of the region as well as the entire top line of the IHL's Detroit Olympics -- all playing due to some Red Wing regulars being unable to participate in the exhibition. Here we present a glorious example of one of the programs that were used for that tour, a Maple Leaf Gardens publication with the updated team lineup cards insert inside. What amazes is the stellar collection of black fountain ink signatures that populate the front cover, which includes such highlights as Busher Jackson, Charlie Conacher, George Hainsworth, King Clancy, Jack Adams, Conn Smythe, Happy Day, Paul Thompson (Chicago star playing with Detroit) and more. A slight vertical crease is the only condition issue, however the appeal of the cover makes it nearly insignificant. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
