Description

1925 Dominion Chocolate Aurel Joliat, With Tab SGC 10 Poor 1. HoFer Aurel Joliat was a powerhouse who never backed away from an on-ice confrontation. His '22 Montreal arrival was "icy" at best as he was the compensation when fan favorite Newsy Lalonde went to Saskatoon. His remarkable skills instantly won him over with fans. With the Canadiens, he contributed to three Stanley Cup titles in 1924, 1930 and 1931. When Joliat's career came an end (said, in part due to the death of Howie Morenz) his achievements were considerable. Joliat played for the first NHL First All-Star Team in 1931; He won the Hart (MVP) trophy in 1934; When he retired, he ranked third in goals scored in a career behind Stewart and Morenz. The Hockey News ranks him among the top 75 players of all time. This is one of the first cards Joliat appears on. The SGC 10 Poor 1 scarcity has obvious condition issues but has retained the coupon portion which is by design meant to be cut off by consumers. A rare and significant card in any condition.
