1977-79 Sportscaster Wayne Gretzky - Rare Italian Rookie Piece. Few athletes create such a profound impact that they change the very way the game itself is played. Wayne Gretzky is one of those elite few. Offered is what has to be a most important rookie card of the last forty years that is largely overlooked. This is Gretzky's rookie appearance from the Sportscaster premium card series issued in 1979. The image area is glossy and perfectly registered, corners are a crisp and flawless curve. There is some very slight chipping along its edges. Collectors are well aware of the Topps and O-Pee-Chee rookies that exist, but there are much fewer examples of this card in circulation.
