1964-65 Toronto Star Limited Near Set (46/48). For the second year, the Toronto Star held a special promotion of a set of thin paper picture cards of current hockey stars and a unique paper album to house six cards and stickers to customize the albums look. Today, these cards are hard to find in high grade with complete sets rarely seen available at auction. This presentation offers a near set of forty-six 4-1/8" x 5-1/8" cards, missing Plante and Pulford. Includes: Balon, Bathgate, Baun, Beliveau, Berenson, Boivin, Brewer, Delvecchio, Gilbert, Green, Hall, Harris, Hay, Henderson, Hillman, Hodge, Horton, Howe, Howell, Hull, Jeffrey, Johnson, Kennedy, Keon, Kurtenbach, Laperriere, MacDonald, MacNeil, Mahovlich, Maki, McKenney, McKenzie, Mikita, Neilson, Pappin, Pilote, Pronovost, Provost, Richard, Rivers, Smith, Stanley, Stewart, Tremblay, Ullman and Vasko. Each presents at the EX to EX/MT level, all have linear impressions at the two top corners from corner mounts, three are lesser due to ink/tape stains on the reverse.
