1923-24 V145-1 Patterson Near Set (39/40) - #4 on the PSA Set Registry. This set ranks #4 on the PSA Set Registry with a 3.95 GPA. Largely unheard of mainly middle to high end complete sets from the 1920's don't appear very often, in large part due to a lack of cards being circulated at the time. So few sets in fact that just over 30 of the 39 players appearing hold "rookie card" status including hockey legends King Clancy, Aurele Joliat and Howie Morenz. This key entry was produced by William Patterson in 1923 and is considered complete at 39 due to the immense rarity of card #25 Bert Corbeau. The roster includes the biggest stars of the era both new and veteran alike who helped make the sport of hockey Canada's National Pastime. Only a pair of cards keep this scarcely offered complete set from being an all middle grade assembly. It is no easy task to acquire vintage hockey cards as a complete set regardless of the condition. Includes: Graded - PSA EX+ 5.5: 1 card, #24 Adams; PSA EX 5: 8 cards, #'s 13 Malone, 18 O. Cleghorn, 20, 28 Roach, 30 Green, 34, 35 Burch and 37 Bouchard; PSA VG-EX + 4.5: 2 cards, #'s 11 S. Cleghorn and 31; PSA VG-EX 4: 20 cards, #'s 3 King Clancy RC (Only four higher), 4, 5, 6, 7 Benedict, 8, 15 Morenz RC (Only six higher), 16, 17, 21, 22, 23 Dye, 26 Noble, 27, 29, 32, 33, 36 38 M.
