    Hockey's greatest cardboard masterpiece

1923-24 V145-1 Patterson Hockey Graded Complete Set (40) - With Extremely Rare Bert Corbeau! The V145-1 William Patterson series is often the cornerstone of a vintage collection. This earlh hockey era is notorious for being short supplies and disappointing conditions. The roster includes the biggest stars, both new and veteran alike, who helped make hockey Canada's National Pastime. Just over thirty players, a trio of hockey legends among them, make their rookie card debuts, and then there is that famous rarity--Bert Corbeau.

Offered is an almost unheard of forty-card complete set with a Grade Point Average of 75.3 (EX+ to EX/NM)! The only three cards SGC has ever graded "92" are all here. Eight of the ten cards SGC rated "88" are here. The top five cards include:

    King Clancy
: The rookie card of the all-time great Ottawa Senator who was one of the top players of his era. Clancy paired great speed with a pugnacious spirit. Clancy ranks first on the all-time list of top scoring defenseman. His final appearance on the ice was the Howie Morenz Memorial Game in 1937.

    Aurele Joliat
: This is the rookie card of another hockey powerhouse who never backed away from an on-ice confrontation. His remarkable skills instantly won him over with fans. Joliat played in the first NHL First All-Star Game in 1931 and won the Hart (MVP) trophy in 1934.

    Howie Morenz:
This is his rookie card and one of the most treasured additions to a vintage hockey collection. He is as close to hockey royalty as there ever will be. His stellar career, untimely retirement and tragic passing have elevated him to legendary status.

    George Vezina
: One of the greatest goaltenders to ever play the game, and the "Lou Gehrig" of hockey. Like Gehrig, he was loved by fans, respected by teammates and the heart and soul of the team. For fifteen years and 327 consecutive regular season and almost forty playoff appearances he was the team's most dependable component, but he became ill during the first game of the 1925-26 season, dying of tuberculosis on March 27, 1926. Today, the Vezina Trophy is awarded to the goaltender who allowed the fewest goals.

    Bert Corbeau
: Not a famous player but one of the famous rarities in all the hobby. To limit the number of prizes (a pair of skates) consumers could exchange for a complete forty-card set, Corbeau was pulled from circulation.

Half of the cards within this meticulous assembly hold "Pop One, Highest Graded Example!" status. Another trio equals the highest grade on record.
