The back of these legendary cards boldly states, "Wayne is considered to be the best prospect to turn professional since Guy Lafleur." Little did they know that Gretzky would not only meet but far surpass those expectations. Upon his retirement, he solidified his legacy as the greatest player the NHL has ever seen, shattering records and becoming the only player in history to score an astonishing 200 points in a single season-not just once, but four times. Since his departure from the game, the awe surrounding his accomplishments remains unmatched, with his cards still holding a place at the pinnacle of hockey collectibles. Several "Next One's" have burst onto the scene but have not come close to the legacy left by Gretzky. Simply put, Gretzky is to Hockey what Babe Ruth is to baseball.
