1966 Topps Hockey Uncut Sheet with Bobby Orr Rookie. Offered is a 1966 Topps Hockey Uncut Sheet with one of the most iconic hockey cards, the Bobby Orr #35 rookie card. Barely a teenager when he was signed to a contract with the Boston Bruins franchise, Bobby Orr quickly became the biggest name in the sport, inspiring a flood of ticket sales wherever he played, and suggesting to the management at Topps that the American market was finally ready to support a USA-only hockey issue. And so, in 1966, the plan was set into motion, the issue inspired by Topps' annual edition in bilingual format. Slight modifications identify the American debut-most notably the English-only text, a slightly lighter wood grain coloring, a unique numbering sequence and an abridged roster of just sixty-six (66) subjects (as opposed to the standard 132). The key card of the set? Bobby Orr, of course. The sheet does feature multiple wrinkles and creases throughout including two small creases on the Orr card. Though the overall condition of the sheet is lacking, the rarity of this piece is truly remarkable.
