1924 Crescent Ice Cream "Selkirks" SGC-Graded Trio (3) - A Type From All Three Known Printings. The mid-1920's was a rich era for hockey card promotions but only a precious few have seems to survive. Their rarity is usually explained by some type of promotion, in this case, consumers exchanged a set of 14 cards for a free brick of ice cream as explained on the reverse side of each card. The Crescent series which showcased players from the Selkirks were produced in three distinct printings, this enticing lot offers one example from each. The lot includes: #3 Tony Bail-Type 1 (SGC 10 PR 1). Dark Brown obverse print without "No." as part of the card number on the reverse; #5 W. Roberts-Type 2 (SGC 10 PR 1). Brown obverse print with the "No." as part of the card number on the reverse; #14 Billy Borland-Type 3 (SGC 10 PR 1). Black obverse print with the "No." as part of the card number on the reverse. Condition aside, a splendid trio of hockey collectibles of immense rarity.
