1924 Crescent Ice Cream "Selkirks" SGC-Graded Collection (5 Different). Each item has been graded by SGC. The mid-1920's was a rich era for hockey card promotions but only a precious few examples have seemed to survive. Their rarity is usually explained by some type of redemption promotion, as is the case here. Consumers exchanged a set of 14 cards for a free brick of ice cream as explained on the reverse side of each card. The Crescent series of players from the Selkirks were produced in three distinct printings. This enticing lot offers all matching type 3 examples which are identified by the black ink fronts with "No." as part of the card numbering on the reverse. Includes: Graded SGC 30 GD 2: 1 card, #14 Borland; SGC 20 FR 1.5: 1 card, #11 Bernard; SGC 10 PR 1: 3 cards w/#'s 2 Hughes, 7 Gillis and 13 Meurer. Condition aside, a splendid selection of hockey collectibles of renowned rarity.
