Description

1941 Canadian Open Championship Trophy Won by Sam Snead. A twenty-four PGA Tour victory for the twenty-nine year old legend on the rise, who shot a ten-under 274 at Toronto's Lambton Golf Club to win his third Canadian Open in a four-year stretch. Snead's first two trophies commanded $15, 535 and $14,340 respectively in our December 2013 Signature auction, and this will be your final chance to claim some north-of-the-border hardware from the links legend.

Obverse bears the logo of the Seagram distillery, the sponsor of the tournament, with engraving reading, "Gold Cup, Canadian Open Golf Championship 1941." Verso is engraved,"Won by Sam Snead at Lambton Golf & C.C., Score 274, Toronto." The double-handled sterling silver loving cup stands eight inches tall on its green marble base, exhibiting no faults beyond general handling and storage wear. Letter of provenance from Jack Snead.
