Description

Circa 1905 Handel Hand-Painted Humidor with Golf Scene. Handel hand-painted golf scene depicts turn-of-the-century woman wearing red jacket and flowing white skirt playing golf with caddy in the background. This tobacco jar measures 7 3/8 inches in height. Underside is marked "Decorated by P.J. Handel, Meriden, CT USA." Pottery with golfing women of this vintage is very rare. The word "Tobacco" is painted on the hinged lid. Condition Mint. Lot derives from the Philadelphia Private Golf Museum.
