    Description

Circa 1890's Old Tom Morris Imperial Style Vintage Photograph. He struck the first shot in the inaugural British Open (then called The Open Championship), winning four of the seven to follow in 1861, 1862, 1864 and 1867. Remembered as the foremost pioneer of the early game, Old Tom was likewise one of its most diverse practitioners, serving as greenskeeper, clubmaker, ballmaker, instructor and course designer during his decades of service to the sport. This 6.5x8.5" period imperial style cabinet photo captures Morris perfectly. The image has been applied to a thick backing for preservation. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
