Description
1995 Ryder Cup Captains' Trophy Presented to Sam Snead. There is arguably no more elite brotherhood in American professional golf, the men chosen to captain the Ryder Cup team in links battles for global dominance. In 1995, a summit of these superstar golfers was held in Dallas, Texas, where three generations of superstars came together to share war stories, and to be honored by the Ryder Cup organizers.Only the men whose engraved facsimile signatures adorn the lowermost ring of the presented trophy own a model, a cast of characters including Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and, of course, Sam Snead, the most successful captain in Ryder Cup history.
"The Ryder Cup" is engraved on the bowl of the loving cup trophy itself, topped by a figural golfer and bearing the seals of the United States and Great Britain. Also engraved on the lower ring bearing the captains' signatures is text reporting, "Ryder Cup Captain's Dinner, May 3, 1995, Dallas, Texas."
Trophy measures twelve inches in height, with some light scratching apparent upon close inspection. A remarkable relic available only to the sport's pantheon. Letter of provenance from Jack Snead.
