Description

1961 Ralph Moffitt Ryder Cup Player's Badge. A star-studded American team anchored by links legends Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper and Doug Ford proved too much for the British competition to handle, with the former colony serving up a fourteen and a half to nine and a half point victory. Presented is the official badge worn on the links by a member of the vanquished side, whose name "R.L. Moffitt" is engraved at lower edge. At upper edge we find the year of "1961," while the center emblem announces "British and American P.G.A. Team Championship, Ryder Cup." Reverse supplies an engraved identification of the venue, "St. Annes on the Sea, England." Very light handling wear is evident, but the badge presents marvelously with no distractions of note. Dimensions approximately 2.5x1.5".
