Description

1960's Bobby Jones Signed Photograph. Though stricken with a rare and degenerative disease of the central nervous system in his mid-forties, the man most often named as the greatest golfer of all time showed the strength of character in his later years that had served him so well on the links, soldiering on with the explanation that "We all have to play the ball as it lies." While just a touch shaky, his blue ink inscription to a fan is unimprovable in darkness and clarity, reading, "Thomas Riordan, Best wishes, Bob Jones." Signed photographs of this Golden Age god are exceptionally scarce and desirable, and this is certainly the definitive image of the Master at his prime. Photograph measures 8x10" in size. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
