1959 Bobby Locke Transvaal Golf Union Open Championship Silver Medal. Impressive silver medal was issued to Locke for his second place finish in this historic tournament headquartered in his home nation of South Africa. Obverse features the heraldic seal and name "Transvaal Golf Union." Verso is engraved, "Open Championship, 2nd, January 17th, 1959." Diameter two inches. Fine condition. A rare and important relic from this four-time winner of the British Open Championship (1949, 1950 ,1952, 1957). The first of the South African greats.Auction Info
