Description

1941 Masters Badge. The most prestigious and exclusive tournament in the sport, The Masters Tournament is the realization of a dream of hometown hero Bobby Jones and investment banker Clifford Roberts, who designed Augusta National with course architect Alister MacKenzie. The annual tournament is properly called "the toughest ticket in sports," but we present four within this auction, the first of which is this 1941 model, issued for the fourth round on April 6th, only months before the beginning of America's involvement in the Second World War. Hall of Famer and 1941 US Open winner Craig Wood would take the Green Jacket this year. The badge survives in fabulous condition, with light wear at the top edge caused by the original attached string.
