1940 Jim Barnes PGA Hall of Fame Induction Plaque. The PGA of America created its own Hall of Fame in 1940 and in its first class was the first ever PGA Champion Jim Barnes. Barnes won four major championships and twenty-one Tour titles in all and was one of the true giants of golf in America in the first half of the 20th century.

The complete text reads as follows: "Awarded by the Professional Golfers Association of America to Jim Barnes in recognition of his election to the PGA Golf's Hall of Fame in the year 1940. By the golf professionals and sports press of the nation as having made one of the outstanding contributions to golf in the history of the game."

This plaque is great testimony to Jim Barnes's place in history and it remains in wonderful condition, measuring 13x17". Minor handling wear. Letter of provenance from Barnes family.
