Description

1937 First Set Of Wilson Irons With Sam Snead Letter. This is the first set of irons shipped to Sam Snead after signing with Wilson Sporting Goods Co. It is an absolutely remarkable intact set. Sam used these clubs for just a couple of years so there is moderate very even use but he must have kept using the pitching wedge a few years longer for the chrome on the sweet spot is well worn. Sam won numerous tournaments in the late 1930's with these clubs and used them in the 1937 Ryder Cup Matches in Southport England. The clubs themselves are extremely attractive with chocolate brown shafts and leather grips. An important historical collection from arguably the games sweetest swinger. Letter of provenance from Sam Snead. Letter of provenance from Jack Snead.
