Description
1926 Robert A. Gardner & More Signed Menu. The 1926 US Walker Cup Team went overseas early in preparation for the Matches at St. Andrews on June 2 and 3. On the eve of May 21 in Edinburgh, a dinner was held in their honor and this menu cover is signed by the following US Team members: Robert A. Gardner, William C. Fownes, Jr., Jesse Guilford, George Von Elm, Roland MacKenzie and Watts Gunn. On the left side of this great piece are lords and other dignitaries, among them famed writer O. B. Keeler. Gardner won the US Amateur twice (1909 & 1915); Fownes the 1910 US Amateur; Guilford the 1921 Amateur, and Von Elm the 1926 Amateur. A spectacular item with many rare early signatures. All autographs are rendered in bold pencil. The menu itself remains in splendid undamaged condition, ideal for display. LOA from Mark Emerson.
