1912 Jim Barnes Canadian Open Contestant's Badge. The Canadian Open is the third oldest golf championship in the world, and its first tournament was contested in 1904. Jim Barnes was one of the contestants in the 1912 Canadian Open and offered here is the player badge he wore while competing in that event. The badge measures 1.25" in diameter and features the logo of the Association on obverse and engraved script on verso: "Royal Canadian Golf Association Open Championship J. M. Barnes 1912." Minor oxidation. This is one of the earliest golf contestant badges known to exist!
