Description

1961 Doug Sanders Eastern Open Invitational Winner's Gold Medal. Sanders' brilliant 1961 season continues with a victory at the new Pine Ridge Golf Club in Lutherville, Maryland. This would prove to be the seventh of Sanders' twenty PGA Tour victories. Presented for the accomplishment was this shimmering prize, featuring the logo of the PGA at obverse and engraved with the details of the win: "Eastern Open Invitational, 1961 Scores 69-72-66-68-69-275." Verso is stamped "14K" and engraved, "Winner, Eastern Open Inv., Doug Sanders." Measures one and a half inches in diameter. Fine condition. Family letter of provenance.
