Description

Original coin-operated upright woodrail pinball machine entitled "Williams Fairway." This interesting collectible was manufactured by the Williams Manufacturing Company in Chicago, Illinois. Painted around the outside of the cabinet is a nocturnal scene featuring a couple playing golf under the stars. Depicted on the inside is an attractive young lady golfer in knee length plaid skirt and matching cap, green blouse, and white shoes. On the upright back panel is a young lady golfer in knee length checkered skirt and red blouse at the finish of her swing. Like most of the older pinball machines, bells and whistles go off from start to finish and flippers are used to maneuver a stainless steel ball through a maze of bonus and penalty situations. Under glass, in the upper left hand corner is a brass plaque that reads, "Restored by Borden's Pinball store - Bob Borden." The Williams Fairway is purported to be one of the earliest golf-related upright pinball machines ever made, and this offering is in working order. There is minor paint loss on the outside of the base. Circa 1949. 24 1/2"w; 64 1/2"h; 53"d. Very good + restored condition.
