Description

Smooth face "lofter" manufactured by Carrick in Musselburgh, Scotland. Impressed into the back of the head is the well-known "Carrick X" stamp. Carrick and John Gray were two of the earliest makers to stamp their names on the back of their clubs. The patina is good; the stamp has worn down from constant polishing. The nicking has been reduced slightly from reshafting and the shaft and grip are 1910 era replacements. Circa 1865. Head 4 3/8" x 1 17/18"; hosel 4 1/2"h.
