    Description

Scarce Murray long nose spoon circa 1880. Three-dowel horn sole, slight spoon to face, oval lead back weight, old whipping at neck, hickory shaft and russet grip. Impressed into the top of the head is the block printed "Murray" stamp. The dark brown stain and finish, neck whipping, shaft and russet grip appear to be original. A moderate area of stain was removed from the top of the head, probably to see the Murray name a little clearer. Scarce. Circa 1880. Head 5 1/2" from toe to heel; 1 1/8" face; 43" shaft. Good +.
