    Description

    R. Simpson long nose putter circa 1890. Three-dowel horn sole, oval lead back weight, dark brown or black stain and finish, old neck whipping, hickory shaft and russet grip. This interesting club, with its block printed "R. Simpson" stamp on the top of the head, was manufactured in the shop of Robert Simpson in Carnoustie, Scotland. The dark brown stain and finish are old but may not be original, and there is minor weathering to the face. Circa 1890. Head 4 3/4" from toe to heel; 1 1/8" face; 37 1/4" shaft. Good +.
