    Description

    R. Forgan long nose play club. With three-dowel horn sole, old dark brown finish, oval lead back weight, old whipping, hickory shaft with unusual grain, and built-up leather wrap grip. Impressed into the head is the large block printed "R. Forgan" stamp with Prince of Wales feathers. This interesting collectible was made in the shop of Robert Forgan in St. Andrews, Scotland. There is an aged 1" hairline in the toe; the top edge of the face is a little rough; the grip shows moderate to heavy wear. Circa 1865. Head 5 1/2" from toe to heel; 1 1/16" face; 43" shaft. Good +.
