    Description

    J. Anderson play club circa 1875. With slight spoon to face, old dark brown stain and finish, three-dowel horn sole, oval lead back weight, old neck whipping, hickory shaft and russet grip. Impressed into the head is the block printed "J. Anderson" stamp. James Anderson worked with Robert Forgan prior to making clubs on his own. This interesting club was made in his shop at St. Andrews, Scotland. Excellent head shape. Minor wear to face. Outstanding.
