    Description

"Travis" style wooden mallet head putter by Slazenger. This interesting center shaft club has a small head with impressed "Slazenger" stamp; one piece brass face and sole, rectangular lead back weight, and built-up leather wrap grip. After (Walter) Travis won the British Amateur in 1903 with a brilliant stretch of putting, (the first American ever to win the tournament), all center shaft putters were banned in the U.K. by the R. & A. (Royal and Ancient) for three decades. Moderate wear to head; light wear to shaft and grip; otherwise good +.
