    Description

Early 1930's Harry Vardon Signed Oversized Photographic Print, PSA/DNA Mint 10. Blurring the lines between fine art and sports collectibles is this mesmerizing image of the early British Champion, snapped in 1905 and reprinted in the early 1930's, when Vardon applied his 10/10 pencil signature at lower right. The result is an elegant and tremendously scarce artifact that would elevate any fine golf collection to an elite level. Vardon, of course, popularized the grip that bears his name, and which is used by ninety percent of golfers to this day. He ranks as the greatest links legend of the turn-of-the-century, having won seven Majors between 1896 and 1914. Despite Vardon's tremendous relevance to the game, only a tiny handful of his autographs are known to exist, and none could possibly compare to the boldness of this one, or its placement on such a gorgeous medium. The print measures 12x18" (visible area) and is matted and framed to dimensions of 19x24". Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, Gem Mint 10. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
