Early 1920's Golf Autograph Album with Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen. Golf royalty abounds in this personal volume from the estate of Bernard "Ben" Sayers (1856-1924), a successful early Scottish professional golfer who later became a distinguished golf teacher, course designer and manufacturer of clubs and equipment. Most of the nearly one hundred figures whose signatures reside within the album were counted among Sayers' personal friends, these names including a very young Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, Francis Ouimet, Leslie Balfour-Melville, Arnaud Massy, Alex Herd, Jack White, George Duncan and Jock Hutchison. The autographs are rather equally balanced between pencil and ink but uniformly bold, and typically applied several to the page, on front and back. You'll be hard-pressed to find a more impressive assembly of early links superstars, and the Sayers' provenance adds extra allure. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
