Description
Circa 1960 Bobby Jones Signed Photograph. He was the greatest golfer of his age, and one of the greatest sportsmen of any, always a faithful servant of his legions of fans. We see evidence of his fine character in this lot, a signed photograph mailed to a youngster with links aspirations. The wonderful 8x10" black and white portrait photo is inscribed in fountain pen ink that averages 9/10: "Best wishes Tully, You'll hit them a long way someday, Yours, Bob Jones." A horizontal crease extends beneath the autograph, and toning from an earlier framing job appears within the border at the top corners, but none of these issues distracts the eye significantly.
