    Circa 1940 Archie Compston Signed Cut Signature & Unsigned Photograph. Member of first three GB & I Ryder Cup teams and especially famous for an 18 & 17 rout of the great Walter Hagen in a scheduled 72 hole match play challenge match. Autograph is rendered in 10/10 black fountain pen ink, apparently upon a trimmed upper section of Compston's letterhead (4.5 x 7), exhibiting storage folds but no other flaws. Perfect to frame with included 8 x 10 wire photo of Compston at work in 1940, NRMT. LOA from Mark Emerson. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
