1977 Clifford Roberts Signed "The Story of the Augusta National Golf Club" Book. Rare volume is rendered even more desirable by the appearance of the author's and course co-founder's autograph on a book plate affixed to the interior cover of the hardcover volume. Tucked inside the book is a 1977 from Roberts' secretary on Augusta National letterhead that was sent along with the book to its recipient. The secretary notes that "This copy of Mr. Roberts' book is a limited edition and cannot be purchased." Three months after the book was mailed, Roberts took his own life on the banks of Augusta's par three course with a .38 revolver, denying his terminal cancer the opportunity to determine conclude its cruel work. Book and autograph are in perfect condition, housed in a well-preserved slip cover. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
