Autographed by every living Masters Champion at 2000 edition!

1960's-70's Sam Snead Tournament Used Bag Signed by Masters Champions with Set of Clubs. There's a great deal going on with this lot, so we'll try to chart the path chronologically. We begin with a top-of-the-line Wilson staff bag in red and white leather, which Snead's son Jack reports was used by his father throughout the 1960's and 1970's. The various zippered pockets supply a veritable treasure trove of Snead's equipment--one bulges with fifteen course used balls; a few unused sleeves appear in another (one containing special "Snead" balls with his name and likeness). Tees and replacement shoe spikes lurk in another. A special "Sam Snead" towel dangles from the side, and an umbrella is sheathed at the opposing pocket. The bag remains in solid, undamaged condition but certainly shows the signs of a long and fruitful partnership with one of the sport's greatest figures. Attached are twin identification tags from "Pine Tree Golf Club" in Boynton Beach, Florida with Snead's name imprinted, and a "PGA Tour" tag with Snead's name and address filled out in his own hand. A third tag, from "The Greenbrier" in White Sulphur Springs, WV is autographed on front and back by Snead in 9/10 black sharpie.

The clubs contained within, Wilson irons numbered two through nine and a pitching wedge, date to 1981 according to Jack Snead, and again exhibit solid use from the prettiest swing in the game's history. To the best of our knowledge, these are the very first Snead tournament used clubs ever made available to the collecting public. If you examine the wear on the club faces, you can see the evidence of Snead's world-class skill--not a stray mark to be found, just the same point of impact, over and over and over. These clubs alone, Snead's favorites, are worth far more than the price of admission.

Finally, we come to the astounding collection of autographs proudly applied by all past Masters Champions in attendance for the 2000 edition at Augusta. Applied in bold blue or black sharpie are the following signatures: Herman Keiser, Charles Coody, Tom Watson, George Archer, Seve Ballesteros, Art Wall, Ben Crenshaw, Billy Casper, Larry Mize, Doug Ford, Ray Floyd, Bernhard Langer, Fuzzy Zoeller, Arnold Palmer, Bob Goalby, Jack Nicklaus, Hootie Johnson, Sandy Lyle, Tommy Aaron, Sam Snead, Fred Couples, Tiger Woods, Gay Brewer, Ian Woosnam and Nick Faldo. Three further 2000 Masters tags--a metal souvenir model, Snead's Monday practice round credentials and his bar-coded official ID tag--likewise dangle from straps near the top.

A thrilling blend of Snead tournament action and autographed tribute to a living legend just two years before his passing at age eighty-nine, this is one of the most exciting golf lots ever to tempt the modern collector. We can think of no other offering that has enjoyed such a long and distinguished brush with greatness. Letter of provenance from Jack Snead. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
