Description

1953 Bobby Jones Signed Letter, PSA/DNA Gem Mint 10. The diagnosis of syringomyelia came in 1948, a dreadful ailment of the spinal cord that would progress from crippling pain to paralysis and, ultimately, death at the age of sixty-nine. The Golden Age golfing legend graciously declines a request to participate in some form of film or photography session, writing in part, "I have not been able to play golf for some four or five years on account of a physical disability. This, of course, will make it impossible to do the kind of story your letter suggests." The single typed page on Jones' personal letterhead is signed boldly 10/10, at the close in highly desirable "Robert T. Jones, Jr." format. Page exhibits original mailing folds but no other distractions. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA Gem Mint 10. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
