1947 Robert T. "Bobby" Jones Signed Letter. This is as fine a Bobby Jones letter as one could imagine. His "wordsmith" skills are readily apparent as he informs the recipient he won't be hired at The Augusta National Golf Club. The content further is indicative of the South's societal situation of the day, mentioning the "colored steward" at The Augusta National. The mention of Clifford Roberts, his partner in founding The Masters Golf Tournament, adds to the luster of this piece. The letter is typed on the full size stationery of his law firm and is enhanced by the bold and flowing fountain pen full signature (10/10). Jones' personal letterhead exhibits original mailing folds otherwise NRMT. Original mailing envelope included. LOA from Mark Emerson. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
