    Description

1934 Leo Diegel & Denny Shute Signed Photograph. Leo Diegel ended the great Walter's Hagen string of four PGA Championship titles in a row when he prevailed in 1928 at Baltimore's Five Farms. And he backed that up the next year, too, winning successive PGA's. Denny Shute was himself a four-time major champion and they both signed this original photo in 1934. Diegel is an especially rare autograph in this format. Each inscription is to a "Capt. Gorham," and is applied with 9/10 black fountain pen. The 8 x 10 photo provides no condition flaws of note. LOA from Mark Emerson. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
