1929 British Open Multi-Signed Photograph with Vardon, Braid, Hagen. Absolutely extraordinary cabinet photo stamped with the "Rushbrook Photo" imprint of an Edinburgh, Scotland studio derives from the 1929 playing of The Open Championship at the famous Muirfield links. A stunning collection of signatures from many of the participants pictured in the striking image allows us to pinpoint the year, as this was the only British Open to feature this particular combination of links legends. We find them posing in front of the famous Queen's Hotel, still to this day favored lodging for golfers visiting Muirfield, Carnoustie and St. Andrews. From left to right, front row to back, we encounter the following eleven autographs: Ted Ray (6/10), James Braid (6/10), Walter Hagen (10/10), Harry Vardon (10/10), MacDonald Smith (10/10), Aubrey Boomer (10/10), Jim Barnes (6/10), Al Watrous (10/10), Johnny Farrell (4/10), Percy Baxter (10/10), Jose Jurado (9/10).

Quite possibly the most spectacular autographed golf photograph in the collecting hobby, this stunning treasure features signatures from no fewer than five pre-war winners of golf's oldest and most prestigious tournament, including Hagen as the victor and defending Champion in this 1929 contest. The condition of the cabinet photo is as spectacular as the cast of characters, with the faintest hint of foxing and light bends at the corners of the cardboard mount the only factors bearing mention. The image itself measures 6x8", with the mount extending the final dimensions to an impressive 10x12". The search for adequate superlatives fails when summing up this astounding relic, sure to be the crown jewel in even the most impressive of golf autograph collections. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
