1920 Willie Park Signed Book Page. Willie Park, Jr. came from a distinguished lineage of a golfing family from Musselburgh, Scotland. Both his father and uncle had been Open Champions and Willie Jr. captured the title twice-in 1887 at Prestwick and on his own home course of Musselburgh Links in 1889. He is regarded as the first golf professional to write a golf book, The Game of Golf, in 1896, and The Art of Putting in 1921 is a staple among golf collectors. He was also a prolific architect with some 170 courses to his credit. This bold autograph is from the title page (removed) to his classic The Art of Putting. All ink is 9+/10 and the page itself will likewise present as NRMT with a simple framing job. LOA from Mark Emerson. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
