1900's James Foulis Original Manuscript Pages. "THE EDGEWATER GREENS" by James Foulis, the famous golf architect. This is a simply fascinating manuscript written by the 1896 US Open Champion Jim Foulis. It features his greenskeeping measures at Edgewater Golf Club in great detail and in an effort to prove his credentials, he further states, "During those years I played competitive golf I was third in the National Open at Newport, Rhode Island; won it at Shinnecock Hills in 1896; and was third again in the National Open at Chicago Golf Club. I played off and on until 1910 and was several times in the prize money." A four page report with, unfortunately, one page missing. Unsigned. Typed pages exhibit wear at edges, apparent in our catalog photography, but such problems must be forgiven in light of the tremendous scarcity.
